Q: What is 4Good?
A: 4Good is an online collaboration site for the nonprofit community. You can think of 4Good as a social community for social impact. We want to strengthen nonprofits, social enterprises and others who want to do good by making it easy and rewarding for nonprofit organizations, foundations and consultants to share ready-to-use tools, templates, training content and more. 4Good is more than just a static list of resources. On 4Good you can find collections from thought-leaders, leave reviews on the resources you love, and ask the experts your questions.

You can watch a demo of the entire 4Good site, and all of our features at 4Good: Finally, a Social Community That Is All About You .

And this is just the beginning! We're working on more features to help you manage programs, connect with new supporters and raise money.

A. Content marketing is a marketing strategy where you attract potential customers, clients and supporters through compelling and useful content, such as videos, infographics and articles. Content marketing has been increasing in popularity because it is often less expensive and more effective than traditional marketing, such as telemarketing and sales flyers. Content marketing is way to bring potential customers to you, while establishing yourself as an expert.

You might already being using content marketing without realizing it. Do you have free publications available for download on your website? Do you send out a regular newsletter with tips and advice? Do you have a podcast? All of these things are part of content marketing.

4Good is the perfect way for management support organizations, associations, or consultants who work with nonprofits to integrate content marketing into their marketing and branding strategies. Not only is it easy to post information on 4Good, we have a built-in audience of nonprofit organizations actively looking for your tools and advice. Q. How can I improve my sales and downloads on 4Good?
A. Here's a few strategies that should help you improve sales and downloads on 4Good:

  • Make your posts and uploads easy to find by tagging them, linking or embedding them on your own website, and sharing them on other social media pages, such as LinkedIn or Twitter.
  • Include an appropriate description of your item. For a short checklist, available for free, you may only need one or two sentences, but for an e-book for sale, you may need a more comprehensive introduction and a table of contents.
  • Make sure your profile is filled out completely. Let potential customers know who you are and why they should trust what you have to say.
  • If you have both free items and items for sale on 4Good, make sure that you include a link to relevant items for sale in your free items.
  • Experiment with pricing. You may want to lower your price point or add additional materials (such as adding templates to an e-book) and raise your price. Browse through similar items and see what users with similar items have done.
  • Reach out to us! Let us know that you've shared something and we'll see where we can include it our newsletters and social media.

Q. I already have tools for sale and download on my website. Why should I upload them to 4Good, too?
A. We have just one word that we think will convince you: community. You're probably already familiar with building and reaching an online community through social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter. On 4Good you can reach our large community of nonprofit and social impact professionals and community members, actively searching for the tools and advice they need to build a better social sector. You can use 4Good to build a community around your brand through the tools you have already created. Your potential clients and members can find out more about your work, including what their peers and colleagues think. When you share on 4Good, thought-leaders can easily highlight and recommend your content in their collections.

Not convinced yet? Here are some more reasons you should share on 4Good.

  • Our recommendation engine helps potential peers, clients and members find you through their dashboard and when they look at similar content.

Look for the CC symbol at the bottom of your editing box for the short codes, or read our primer on How to Use Markdown for more detailed instructions.
