My name is Bud Rizer and I am the CEO of the National Cristina Foundation, a nearly 30 year old Private Operating Foundation (501c3) that promotes the donation of technology leaving its first life to a second life with our pre-screened partner non-profits and schools all across the country. My background is in technology and disability with an emphasis on rehabilitation engineering applications and assistive technology. I have been involved with technology and disability for over 30 years, hold a doctorate in the field and have taught a universities throughout the country. In my current capacity I am responsible for promoting the benefits of technology re-use, supporting local non-profits through such donations, and providing services to individuals caught on the wrong side of the digital divide.
Non-profits can apply to be included in a national search tool that promotes the technology needs of non-profits locally and enables the potential donor to complete the donation online. Participating non-profits can specify the types and quantities of equipment they are seeking.
The National Cristina Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that has for the past 30 years promoted the concept of technology reuse from its first life to a new life with non-profits and schools serving persons with disabilities, at-risk students and economically disadvantaged populations.
