Writing for the 21st century donor is different. It’s new, refreshing, and challenging. We have to think in terms of being donor-centered all the time. Writing still includes the basics, but personalization has taken on a whole new meaning. It’s called getting to know the donor and letting the donor get to know you.
You can go back to your writing tablet with a new perspective – and challenge. Your thinking about what to expect from a donor has been strengthened and your ability to write in a way that truly communicates to 21st century donors has probably changed. Your challenge will be to get it all done.
