Rethink The Update: Building Meaningful Online Engagement Edit Title
Wed, May 20, 2015 at 1pm EDT / 10am PDT Edit Date
You know that your organization matters to your supporters, but social media status updates are falling upon deaf ears. What is missing? More often than not, it’s simply a question of stepping back and looking at three things: Who is your audience, what do they want to discuss, and how are they valued online and off?
When you create meaningful engagement, your stakeholders do the work for you by sharing, fundraising, volunteering, and recruiting on your behalf. This free webinar shares examples and ideas of how to restart your social media engagement, from rethinking what you post to how you engage online.
- Understanding what your audience wants to discuss online, and how to find it
- Social spaces where conversation and stakeholders feel valued
- Designing meaningful social media engagement opportunities and participation loops

Great webinar. A lot of great concepts to think about.

The upshot is that I am now focused on actively increasing engagement. To that end, the webinar had an empowering effect on my uncertainty about taking a more creative and somewhat more personal approach. Sharing examples of postings demonstrating the principles added the concete punch ofor the visual. For me, this provided à significant enhancement of the auditory.

I think this webinar has a lot of good things to say, however, I found that with so many "catch phrases" instead of clear black and white words, I found myself faltering in trying to fully understand the message.
