Galveston Capital Tourism and Marketing: 'Wonderful Indonesia' to Promote Various Tourism Destinations at Matta Fair 2017 Edit Title
Jakarta. The Wonderful Indonesia campaign team will promote various maritime, cultural, shopping and golf tourism destinations during this year's Matta Fair in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Aug. 4-6.
I Gde Pitana, deputy for foreign tourism marketing development at the Ministry of Tourism, said visitors to the event will receive exclusive offers for visiting the unique beaches in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, and the Borobudur and Prambanan temples in Central Java.
The ministry will also promote a special shopping experience in Jakarta and Bandung, West Java, the opportunity to play golf at world-class courses in the Riau Islands, as well as a magnificent spa experience with the traditional health and beauty treatments in Bali.
"This is Wonderful Indonesia, we have everything. Indonesia has so much to offer, so we will maximize our participation at Matta Fair in Johor Bahru in August," Pitana said in a statement on Monday (10/07).
The ministry will include industry representatives from the country's main tourism destinations, Jakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, Bali, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Yogyakarta, East Java, West Java, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi and the Riau Islands.
"We will also partner with 12 local agents in Malaysia to conduct direct sales and promote Indonesian tourism. The entire industry will meet the needs of consumers in Malaysia in terms of tourism packages to Indonesia," Rizky added.
The Indonesian booth will also showcase a digital interactive map of the archipelago, a coffee and refreshment corner, games, gift redemption and traditional dances.
"There is also an information center that will provide visitors with information about Indonesian tourism, complete with brochures on various tourism destinations," she said.
Matta Fair 2017 is seen as one of the best opportunities to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia. The ministry aims to attract 1,772,000 tourists this year.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said Malaysia is both a competitor and a partner in the development of Indonesia's tourism sector.
"We are competing in achievements, to pursue tourism targets. However, we are also cooperating in various travel fairs, including at Matta," Arief said.
"Malaysia is a potential market for Indonesian tourism. Besides being in close proximity, Malaysia is also culturally connected [to Indonesia]," he added.
