The mission of Napa Valley Museum is to provide a venue for outstanding visitor experiences that enrich the cultural fabric of our community through exhibitions and extensive educational programs at the Museum and in area schools. The Museum inspires Napa Valley residents and visitors to learn about the history, art and natural environment of the region.
Permanent exhibitions highlight the unique geographical and environmental characteristics of the Valley, its history and arts, the wine industry and agrarian culture, as well as the lives and contributions of Chinese, German and Italian immigrants, migrant laborers, and others. We also have a series of exhibitions throughout the year celebrating local and national artists.
Our 12 different educational programs reach over 7,000 children each year. These programs are tied to the California State curricula standards in language arts, history, and environmental and physical sciences. We consider our educational programs a centerpiece of our mission to serve and educate our community in all aspects of the Napa Valley.
