Wed, Nov 04, 2015 at 1pm EDT / 10am PDT Edit Date
Does your mission statement differentiate your nonprofit clearly and concisely? Could it describe any of several other organizations? If you're clear about your value to your community, stakeholders and/or cause, why bother to “wordsmith” your mission statement? The answers to these questions can make the difference between sustainable success and failure in several ways. Join us to see what a rigorously crafted mission statement can do for marketing, fundraising, strategy, and sustainability.
- Why your mission statement is so important.
- Why it's worth editing your mission statement.
- What's in a good mission statement, and what's not.
- How a good mission statement can guide strategic decisions.
- How to measure your performance against your mission statement, and why that's valuable.

"What's a Mission Statement" was an incredibly concise and helpful webinar. Mr. Frank needed to move quickly through the topic, but explained fully the differences between mission, vision, tagline, etc. I would recommend this webinar to anyone moving into strategic planning.

This was an excellent, motivating webinar with very good real world examples of both great and appalling mission statements!

We are doing a 4-hour "vision, mission & core values" facilitated workshop with our Board and senior management team this evening and the Mission Statement webinar was a fantastic preliminary exercise to get our brains moving in the right direction! Many thanks.

Great high level content on Mission Statements -- lots of good (and bad) examples given. I'm taking the word "concise" away for more frequent use in this context. -- it will replace "crisp." Thanks!

The instruction around effective mission statements was great. I liked that vision statements, tag lines, and elevator pitches were also defined with examples. The many examples he had from various profit and not-for-profit organizations were helpful too. Best idea that hit home for me was that the mission statement should help drive strategic planning and also to check in after planning occurs to ensure the organization is fulfilling the mission through its programming, etc.
