Summerville Community Orchestra engages our community in the powerful experience of live orchestral music. Founded in 2003 by a diverse group of musicians in the Summerville, South Carolina area, SCO went on to hire its first professional conductor Alexander Agrest, a violist in the Charleston Symphony, in 2005. The volunteer musicians, a mix of professional and amateur, range from talented middle school students to retired seniors. The SCO has performed fun and entertaining concerts – a mix of classical, pops, patriotic and children’s music for 10 years. For the 2012-13 season, SCO will present 8 orchestral concerts. Affordable admission of $10/ticket for adults and free for under 18, attracts families, seniors and students.
