The youthrive mission is to engage young people with adults to strengthen leadership and peace-building skills. youthrive provides unique, standards-based curriculums and program models for youth in four age groups: elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. In all youthrive programs, young people become agents of positive community improvement through service-learning projects they design and lead to address local needs they have identified.
More than 2,800 elementary, middle, and high school age youth are involved in 109 youthrive groups using youthrive curriculums as either an in-school and out-of-school-time program to provide enriched content and a unique process of youth engagement.
The curriculums available from youthrive cover a full program year, are age-appropriate, and tied to learning standards. To supplement the local curriculum-based programs, youthrive operates two annual leadership events: (1) a two-day spring leadership training program for 500 youth leaders who interact with a visiting Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; and (2) a one-day fall training session where youth develop skills to lead a service project and prepare for the visit by a Laureate in the spring.
youthrive has developed a new youth engagement training model, the Circle of Youth Engagement™ (CYE) that has been featured at national events hosted by AmeriCorps VISTA, Search Institute, the National Youth Leadership Council, among others.
